Sip Shine to be Official moonshine drink of berlin raceway

The year 2020 marks the 100-year anniversary of prohibition as well as Berlin Raceways' 70th year in operation. In celebration of these two events, Berlin Raceway has teamed up with a new local moonshine brand Sip Shine.

Berlin raceway was established in 1950 by Chester Myslieiwec and his family and officially opened for its first season in 1951. Berlin Raceway started off as a dirt track but was paved with asphalt in 1966. “Berlin is beyond excited to partner with Sip Shine starting in 2020, said Nick Rice director of operations. “Not only because the legacy between moonshine and stock car racing is so legendary, but because our companies both strive to bring the most premium experiences to our audience. It seemed like the perfect fit for us and we are proud to announce Sip Shine as Berlin Raceways official Moonshine beverage.” Berlin is the only Nascar sanctioned track in Michigan and is one of the nation’s most premium short tracks! The Berlin Raceway has been a staple of west Michigan race fans hosting thousands of spectators every Saturday night!

“We set out at Sip Shine to create an easier more accessible moonshine versus your typical moonshine jar, said Kyle Search managing partner of Sip Shine “Our 200ml cans will make it easier for spectators to enjoy moonshine while watching the race. We are super excited about our partnership with Berlin Raceway because of the history between moonshine and car racing. In case you weren’t aware Nascar began after moonshiners “souped” up their cars in order to outrun the law.” The dream of bringing a mobile moonshine that was actually “sippable” to the masses may have started on a family vacation in East Tennessee but Sip Shine is happy to have its National base of operations right here in Grand Rapids MI.

The partnership between Berlin and Sip Shine will be a staple in Grand Rapids racing for years to come. Please make sure to join us at Berlin to celebrate this historic partnership and celebrate the history of car racing and moonshine.
