1. CHASSIS / CONSTRUCTION A. 4" minimum frame height. B. Stock frame may be used (must be symmetrical and must be "X"). GM frames and front subs only. C. Manufactured frames: D. Main frame rails on fabricated frame must be: E. Weight box on driver's side must be secured to frame rail within the wheel base, no bigger than 6" x 6" square and no lower than the frame rail. F. Rear kick-up must be 2" x 3" rectangular tubing, .083 minimum thickness (.090 recommended), and must go over the rear axle (no under the axle frames are allowed). G. Maximum 1" offset of sub frames at front; no offset at rear. Must be square and centered to main cage and frame section equal distance. H. 2800 lbs minimum before and after the race (car and driver). I. 60.00% maximum left side weight before and after the race, with driver in seated position. J. 108" minimum wheel base. K. 80" maximum track width (measured from outside sidewall to outside sidewall) . This is measured at the bottom of the tire including the tire sidewalls. 2. ROLL CAGE A. Four post cage with minimum four left door bars, minimum one right door bar built out of minimum 1.75", .083 tubing (.090 recommended). B. Four posts of roll cage must mount in center of frame rails, front to rear and side to side. No offsets or angles. C. 24" x 24" minimum 14 gauge steel plate (1/8") must be welded to left door bars for driver protection. D. Front and rear hoops MANDATORY and must be run from roll cage to front of engine and behind fuel cell, .083 tubing minimum (.090 recommended). E. Foot box for driver's floor area 10 gauge or 1/8" minimum. (Foot box bar MANDATORY). F. Cage set back center of front spring pocket to front cage posts 40" maximum. G. Cage length 48" from front to back post. H. 38" minimum main cage height from top of frame to top of halo bars (bottom of halo bars must be above the driver's helmet with the driver strapped in). I. One straight horizontal bar on right side; one diagonal 1.75" O.D. bar right side. J. Rear posts of cage MUST be triangularly supported to rear frame 1.75" O.D. 3. FRONT SUSPENSION A. Rack and pinion optional. B. No leaf spring, strut or torsion bars. C. After market lower control arms are allowed; must remain in stock location and stock configuration. D. Tubular upper "A" arm optional. E. Sway bar must be in stock location. No torsion types. F. May use any spindle Ç NO ALUMINUM MATERIALS. G. Any steel or aluminum safety hub, 5" by 5" NASCAR style. H. Shocks may be mounted outside in front. Jackscrews are permitted. I. Shocks: 4. REAR SUSPENSION A. Minimum 5" o.d. springs must be directly on top of and in line with the rear-end housing. B. No quick-change rear-ends; stock type floater mandatory (example: 9" Ford). C. Jackscrews are allowed. D. No aluminum tubes. E. Any type Panhard bar permitted. F. No spring loaded rear suspension linkages. Ends must be in view; not boxed in. G. No rubber biscuits. Rubber or solid heims allowed. H. Shocks: I. No truck arms. 5. BODY A. ABC body only; all ABC body rules apply. B. Full one-piece templates will be used in tech. C. No cutting or altering front nose and rear tail. No filler pieces allowed; must maintain factory nose. D. Nose and tail must match year, make and model. No mixing and matching. E. Front and rear windows mandatory (Lexan only). Rear window must be braced. F. Opera windows optional (Template style only). G. No flat sides or roofs, no square corners and no 90 degree panels. H. Hood: No scoops, no louvers, one air intake opening allowed but must be at bottom edge of front windshield and no wider than 5" front to back. Flat hood. I. 47" minimum roof height. J. Spoiler: 6. INTERIOR A. The floor of the driver's compartment must be constructed with a minimum of 1/8" steel from firewall to behind driver's seat. B. Behind driver's seat, from the floor to the back deck will be 22 gauge steel. C. Drive shaft tunnel no higher than 8" (must be steel) and must be attached to roll cage right side up and over to the door (see sketch). D. All interior panels immediately surrounding the driver must be steel. E. Steel front firewall from post to post, top of frame to dash (stock location). Minimum 22 gauge steel. F. Full dashboard MANDATORY. 7. ENGINE A. American made V8 engines only. B. Mufflers - up and over conventional headers. 180 degree type headers are ok. C. Cast iron heads and blocks only. D. Aluminum intake optional. E. One four barrel carburetor. F. Stock engine location: #1 spark plug in line with both upper ball joints. G. Exhaust pipes must not protrude from body. Side exhaust is recommended. H. No electric fuel pumps. I. Minimum 10" crank height. J. No dry sump oiling systems. K. Fuel cells mandatory. 8. GENERAL A. All drivers must be seated in the car during tech. All measurements will be done with driver in car. B. 10" maximum wheel width, steel wheels made for racing only. C. TIRE RULE: 1. Up to two tires may be purchased at the track each race date (four tires may be purchased on the first race date of the season). 9. SAFETY A. Driver must be able to enter / exit both doors through window openings. No add-ons or filler pieces of any kind except for vent window, which must be no more than 6". B. On-board fire suppression system with minimum 5 pound extinguisher is recommended. 5 pound fire extinguisher mounted in car is required. |
