February 1, 2007 MARNE, MI -- Racing season is closer than you think! Already underway is Speedweeks at Daytona, NASCAR's preseason, which culminates with the running of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 18. Berlin Raceway kicks off its own preseason in less than two weeks with the premiere of The Trackside Show live at Shots Grill on Tuesday, February 13, on WMUS. The Trackside Show, Berlin's weekly radio show on 107 WMUS FM, will again be broadcast live all season long at Shots Grill, Pizzeria and Pub, 4239 Lake Michigan Drive in Standale. The show will air in the same time slot as last season, Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. (just before the nationally-syndicated "NASCAR Live" with Eli Gold, which airs from 7 to 8 p.m.). It will be hosted primarily by Brian Nelson and Tim O'Leary, who also handle Saturday night play-by-play on WMUS live from Berlin Raceway, along with Jeff Striegle, Kevin Striegle and Bob Koorsen. The show premieres a full two months earlier than previous seasons, giving hungry race fans the opportunity to catch up on all the off-season news from Berlin Raceway and its drivers and teams. The weekly show is an inside look at stock car racing at Berlin Raceway, featuring race reviews and previews, interviews with drivers, door prizes, race tire giveaways and food specials for fans and drivers in attendance at Shots. In addition, once Berlin's season begins on Saturday, April 14, fans will get the chance to see exclusive video of all the Berlin Raceway racing action, which will be played on the big screen at Shots courtesy of track videographer PrimeTrax Video. Berlin Raceway Director of Race Operations Mike Strevel said he's excited about the upcoming season's plans for The Trackside Show. "It is great to see Shots supporting the Trackside Show again in 2007," Strevel said. "This makes the third seaon that Shots is the destination for Berlin racers and fans to catch up with the latest news from the track. I look forward to 31 great shows at Shots this year and it just makes you realize that race season is closer than you think!" Pam Vera, owner of Shots, welcomed the show back. "We've really enjoyed hosting the Trackside Show the past two seasons at Shots, and we are excited is is back here again this season," Vera said. "Our recent seating remodeling should make for a better show for everyone. It's going to be great to see all the drivers, teams and fans again, along with the Berlin/WMUS crew. Come on in Monday through Saturday nights and enjoy our nightly specials!" |
