Sun Drop continues support of Berlin Raceway
1/31/2012 - Marne, MI – Berlin Raceway is pleased to announce that Sun Drop and the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group have re-signed to be the official soft drink beverage of Berlin Raceway for the 2012 season.
“Having a brand like Sun Drop involved in our facility at Berlin Raceway is extremely exciting, said Kurt Dietrich, Operations Manager of Berlin Raceway. “Sun Drop has a long history in the South with motorsports specifically, so to have the opportunity to work with them and build on that brand is great. The fact that they selected us to work with on this goal is certainly a privilege.”
Sun Drop came onboard at the start of the 2011 season as the official soft drink beverage sponsor of Berlin; the timing was perfect as Sun Drop was just beginning to be distributed nationwide. Sun Drop also partnered with the MTV brand to help market their product and they have been expanding into new venues and markets ever since.
“We are just really excited to further our involvement with a local legend such as Berlin Raceway! Their demographic lines up perfectly for what our target Sun Drop drinker is into,” stated Mike Sheldon, District Manager of Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group. “We are looking forward to increasing our presence in the community, and Berlin allows us to do that, by targeted advertising and promotions. Sun Drop was developed in New Haven, Missouri, in 1930, and has a strong following, especially in areas where the NASCAR brand is king, like North Carolina. The number of race fans they draw year after year, is amazing, and we feel very fortunate to be a part of it, and hope to build on the great year we had last year.”
Dr. Pepper Snapple Group is a leading producer of flavored beverages in North America and the Caribbean. Their success is fueled by more than 50 brands that are synonymous with refreshment, fun and flavor. They have 6 of the top 10 non-cola soft drinks, and 9 of our 12 leading brands are No. 1 in their flavor categories. In addition to the flagship Dr. Pepper and Snapple brands, their portfolio includes Sunkist Soda, 7UP, A&W, Canada Dry, Crush, Mott's, Squirt, Hawaiian Punch, Peñafiel, Clamato, Schweppes, Venom Energy, Rose's and Mr. & Mrs. T mixers.
