Berlin Raceway releases tentative 2010 season schedule
Marne, MI— Berlin Raceway’s 60th year of operation will feature an action-packed schedule, great ticket promotions and prices. With the addition of the Modified division and a great mix of traveling series, the 2010 season will have something for everyone.
Gates will open up to racers and fans alike for two Test and Tunes on April 10 and April 17; this will give the drivers a chance to dial in their cars before the season opener on April 24. Opening night will feature Super Stocks, Pro Stock, 4-Cylinders, Young Guns and the new Modified class all for $10.
The month of May will not only give week after week of great racing, it also will showcase two nights where living in either Ottawa County (May 1) or Kent County (May 22) will get one a half-price ticket. Family Fun Night is also back on May 8, offering 2 adult tickets and 2 child tickets for $25. The Late Models make their first appearance of the season on the 1st with a 100 lap race and every other division will see extra laps coming their way when they race throughout the month. The school buses return along with an autograph session for Super Stock night on May 29.
Berlin will play host to a variety of traveling series during the month of June including USAC Midgets, USAC Sprint Cars and Template Late Models. All Faiths Night returns to kick off the month of June on the 5th and it will feature the ever-popular Faster Pastor race. NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver, Kyle Busch, will be back in action at Berlin Raceway on Wednesday, June 9 for a 250-lap Template Late Model race. The USAC series will be at the track twice that month; once with the National Sprint Car Series on the 12th and once with the Regional Midget Series on the 26th.
Moving into July, patrons will see the return of $5 for everyone night on the 3rd and will also be treated to fireworks that night along with an exciting night of racing. The 155th Berlin Fair will be back in town July 19-24 and while the majority of the events are still being planned, there is a two-day race weekend in store. Friday, July 23rd is the beginning of Party Time Weekend and will have qualifying races and a post race party. Feature racing will be in store the next night, Saturday, July 24; with all divisions in action, this will be one exciting Fair Week Finale. All of the divisions will be back again the following week, July 31, along with the Vintage Racing Organization of America for 60th Anniversary Night.
The Chet will start the month of August as part of a two-day weekend that includes the ARCA Series. The Chet will be run on a special Friday night race on August 6; with the ARCA cars scheduled to practice that night as well, it is sure to get everyone geared up for the ARCA race the following night, on August 7. Then, just five days later on Thursday, August 12, the USAC Silver Crown Series will invade Berlin Raceway. Saturday, August 14 is Carload Night and along with watching the Super Stocks, Modifieds and Pro Stocks, a carload of people will get in for just $25! Four-Cylinder Night and Modified Night will round out the month of August.
The Auto Value Super Sprints will usher in the month of September on the 4th and just one week later, champions will be crowned in all divisions on Saturday, September 11. The ASA series will be back on September 18th and joining them will be the Dirt Late Models, Outlaw Late Models and a special 4-Cylinder race. The Open Wheel Showdown is slated for September 25 featuring the ISMA Supermodifieds, USAC Regional Midgets and our local Modifieds. Bus Mania will wrap the season up on Saturday, October 2.
