Driver Letter

Dear Berlin Raceway Driver,

Enclosed are the 2008 Berlin Raceway rules package, the 2008 schedule, press releases about the banquet and the schedule, prize money sheet and points fund money sheet. Changes to last year's rules are in bold. Please read these rules carefully and feel free to call me if you have a question about them.

New Division
We would like to welcome the 4-Cylinders as a points division at Berlin Raceway in 2008. The great reponse to the division from drivers and fans alike proved that this division is one that deserves being considered one of Berlin's regular classes. The growth in the division was incredible; we started with 14 cars in April and ended the season with 37 cars in September, plus 70 for the Enduro. We have 12 4-Cylinder races scheduled, plus the non-points Enduro race in October, and we look forward to crowning the first-ever 4-Cylinder champion in 2008!

Late Model Changes
Late Models are back to running on four new tires per night. In addition, payout is increased from $1,300 to win/$250 to start in 2007 to $1,600 to win/$425 to start in 2008. It is our hope that the increase in tires and pay, combined with the decrease in the number of races to 15, will help bring the Late Model car count back up next season.

Tires
In addition to the Late Model change, Pro Stocks get one tire for two consecutive weeks then two tires on the third week, and Sportsman get one tire every other night (with the exception of June 7 and August 16, when Sportsman will be able to purchase two tires. The tires for 2008 are:
Late Model - Hoosier 3035/3045, $115 each
Super Stock - Hoosier 970, $103 each
Pro Stock - Hoosier 880, $96 each
Sportsman - Hoosier 790, $94 each

Other notes regarding rules:
* Updated roof heights for Pro Stock and Sportsman division.
* Updated spoiler and rear decklid measurements for Pro Stock and Sportsman.
* Several modifications to the 4-Cylinder rules, including a new Car Claim rule that is intended to keep the cost of your cars to less than $1,500.
