Bob Knight raced at Berlin Raceway on the dirt from 1951 to 1966 and was known as the toughest driver to beat during that period. Knight won the Mid Season Championship race at Berlin for four straight years (1960-1963) and won the season championship in 1961. That same year, he also won Kalamazoo Speedway's season championship on pavement, making him a track champion on two different surfaces in the same season. Knight passed away in 1980.
